A community food train has opened in Bloomington, providing access to free meals for K-12 students throughout the month of March. The service will provide food to Monroe County youth facing food insecurity as a result of the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic.
The service will be available from 12:30–2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17; Thursday, March 19; Tuesday, March 24; and Thursday, March 26.
Youth 18 and under can pick up meals at the following locations:
- Arlington Valley Mobile Home Park at Classic Lanes
- Banneker Community Center
- Boys & Girls Club, Crestmont
- Country View Apartments
- East Burks Drive (Walnut Springs)
- Kroger (Seminary Square)
- The intersection of Marquis Drive and Lismore Drive
- U.S. Post Office
- Southcrest Estates
- Winslow Plaza
The food train is made possible through a partnership between B.J.’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Pizza X, Red Lobster, Texas Roadhouse, and more.
