Taking advantage of empty storefronts and cruising customers, the Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington has opened a new community arts center in College Mall, 2894 E. 3rd St.

Offering space for Arts Alliance members to rehearse, teach, and display their work, Art Beat includes a stage that community groups can rent for a per-hour fee. The arts center is located near Macy’s, next to Endwright East Community Center. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Fridays, noon to 9 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Art Beat is run by volunteers. Those interested in volunteering can email info@bloomingarts.org.
