The Lotus Education & Arts Foundation has been awarded a $10,000 grant through the Youth Program Resilience Fund of Lilly Endowment Inc.
Lotus will use the grant to support outreach activities to youth and families in Bloomington and south-central Indiana, including in-person and online workshops and performances designed to bring immersive music and arts experiences to Bloomington and Monroe County.
The grant to Lotus is one of 297 grants that the Lilly Endowment has distributed through the Youth Program Resilience Fund to help youth-serving organizations across Indiana adapt their work to challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Lotus is the only arts organization in Monroe County to receive the grant this year. Grants from this fund are part of more than $170 million awarded.
“Lotus is so grateful to be recognized by the Lilly Endowment for the work we do with youth and families in our community,” says the organization in a press release. “This grant offers essential support to help Lotus bring its programming to the community, especially at a time when much of our content must be delivered virtually.”
Lilly Endowment Inc. is an Indianapolis-based, private philanthropic foundation created in 1937 by J. K. Lilly and his sons, Eli and J.K. Jr., through gifts of stock in their pharmaceutical business, Eli Lilly and Company.
