On National Voter Registration Day, September 22, the League of Women Voters of Bloomington-Monroe County will provide registration and voting information at two Bloomington locations.

At My Sister’s Closet, 414 S. College, from 10 a.m.–6 p.m., and at First Christian Church, 205 E. Kirkwood, from 10 a.m.–2p.m., volunteers will help attendees register to vote and educate them on their voter rights.

National Voter Registration Day is a nationwide, nonpartisan event that encourages nonprofit organizations, local businesses, schools, and many others to celebrate American democracy by assisting and educating voters.

“With a presidential election approaching, every eligible American voter should exercise his or her right to vote and be heard at the ballot box,” said the League of Women Voters in a press release.

My Sister’s Closet will provide a 30% discount on regular and sale merchandise to anyone who registers to vote during the event. The League of Women Voters ask that all attendees practice social distancing and wear a mask.

Also that day, the League of Women Voters, in partnership with several other Bloomington organizations, will present an online screening of the documentary UnCivil War: U.S. Elections Under Siege. Learn more here.
