Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 21 points and matched a career high with four assists to lead Indiana to a 79-61 win over Northern Kentucky Wednesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

Jackson-Davis shot 9-11 from the field and 3-4 from the line for the Hoosiers to go along with six rebounds and two blocks. Race Thompson added 14 points on 7-9 shooting and had four boards.

“He brings it every day,” Jackson-Davis said of Thompson after the game. He’s the glue of our team. He holds our team together.”

“I expect a lot from Race and Trayce,” Indiana coach Mike Woodson added. “Race, he’s come through, man. He’s doing a lot of wonderful things for this ballclub.”

The Hoosiers (10-2, 1-1) outscored the Norse 38-14 in the first half and held NKU (4-7) to 5-32 shooting from the field, including a 10-minute stretch during which Northern Kentucky missed 14 straight field goals and was outscored 15-0.

“I thought defensively we did everything right the first half in terms of our coverages, our switches,” Woodson said.

Indiana is idle through Christmas weekend and returns to action on Wednesday, December 29, when they host UNC-Asheville at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Tip-off for the Hoosiers’ final non-conference contest of the season is at 7 p.m.
