Bloom Magazine celebrated its 12th anniversary on August 9 with a party in the Tudor Room at the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU). More than 200 business and civic leaders, educators, artists, members of the arts community, humanitarians, and contributors to the magazine attended the event, which was a fundraiser for Shalom Community Center. Music was provided by The Andy Cobine Trio. The IMU Catering staff, under the direction of Chef Dave Tallent, provided the sumptuous fare, which included a seafood spread featuring lobster tails, giant shrimp, clams, and oysters; tender beef; a pasta bar; fabulous desserts, and many other delicacies.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 12th Annual Bloomie Awards for the best advertisements of 2017–18. Selected from approximately 650 ads, the Bloomie winners were Andrew Davis Clothiers, Argentum Jewelry, Bailey & Weiler Design/Build, CFC Properties, Hurlow Wealth Management Group, Indiana University Athletics, and Root Advisors.
Party attendees cast ballots to select the three Grand Bloomie winners. Taking home the high honors were Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center, Loren Wood Builders, and Nashville Spice Company.
A wonderful time was had by all.
